About Jenn    

 

 

Jenn Seracuse is a certified Pilates Mat Instructor in NYC. Jenn discovered Pilates in college while studying for her Bachelors Degree in Musical Theater and began training regularly after graduating and moving to New York in 2004. Having danced since the age of three, she found Pilates a perfect compliment to her dance training. Pilates also helped Jenn through a bout of sciatica and has been life and body transforming. Wanting to help other people discover this amazing feeling, she began to train with renowned Pilates Instructor Linda Farrell to earn a Pilates Mat instructor certification. Since then Jenn has been teaching all around the city. She has taught classes through Linda Farrell’s Pilates Program, and assisted Linda with other teacher trainings after her own. Jenn teaches Pilates mat classes at Boom Fitness in Manhattan and Evolution Sports Club in Astoria, NY, as well as teaching many private clients in Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn

I took private mat Pilates with Jenn for several months. Before Jenn, I had never taken Pilates. I have to admit, I was a little intimidated, especially considering that it was a private class. Jenn made me feel comfortable and safe. She was so kind and informative, guiding me through each exercise with precision and incredible knowledge of the body. She pushed me just past my comfort zone, to the point that the exercises would be effective. It was the perfect balance--I left each session feeling worked and exhilarated, but not exhausted. The exercises she uses are deceptively simple--they look very easy,
but they use all of your muslces to their fullest potential.
The results were amazing. I lost inches off of my waist with her help. It has also helped my posture immensely. I had a neck injury, and her training helped correct many of my bad neck positions. It also kept me in shape while I had to curtail my other exercise. Whenever I walked out of her sessions, I felt as solid as a rock!
I am totally sold on Pilates because of Jenn. Though I am out of the city now, I continue the exercises she taught me and take private sesions.
I really believe that the private sessions were crucial for me, because she took the time to make sure each exercise was perfectly aligned and properly executed. She also works with you as an individual, focusing on your personal goals and problem areas. And, if you are having a hard time with a particular exercise, she will watch carefully and dissect it, muscle by muscle, showing you how you can make it easier and more effective. She is an incredibly gifted teacher and an even better human being. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Treat yourself to her classes--you will be shocked at how your body will transform!
